Workingclassparenting.com is a place for parents to stay focused on their end goal. To raise confident, educated, compassionate, spiritual and successful children that not only survive, but thrive.

Working Class Parenting Objective
1. To create an educational, motivational and inspirational social media network for parents;
2. To grow a community of parents helping parents through insight, encouragement and prayer;
3. To present five strategic parenting principles in a multimedia platform.

Five Parenting Principles
1. Education: taking an active and present role in your children’s learning process in school
    and life;
2. Humble Confidence: Raising modest and respectful children who as they mature are certain  
    of their actions;
3. Family Finance: To provide financial stability for your family’s present situation, while 
    developing your children’s path toward financial independence;
4. Faith and Compassion: To offer a foundation of beliefs that defines and directs your child’s 
    moral and ethical structure, while emphasizing empathy for the suffering of others;
5. Love and Discipline: Developing strong affection and attachment through family interaction, 
    while establishing boundaries and consequences through accountability.

5 Tips for Fathers on Love and Discipline

I found this post by Judy Helm Wright , a Family Coach and Author, with 6 grown children and 10 grandchildren.   The topic is Love and Discipline, and here are her 5 tips for fathers, with my comment after each. 1. "Be firm, kind and respectful in setting boundaries."  (If you are angry already when telling your kids the rules, it's to late.) 2. "Try to say yes, more often than no. "Yes, you may have a cookie ... right after dinner." (I know this is hard when they ask a million times. Monday Morning After Hurricane Sandy

As most of us get ready for Monday morning and the work week ahead, let's not forgot the people still recovering from Hurricane Sandy's impact. Your Monday morning will be normal, theirs won't be. I found this post by Danni Kay who blogs at  missaleck.com . As of Saturday, she was without power for 6 days and she writes about her gratitude to all those that have helped out the storm victims.
